We are looking for the right fit to fill an opening for an Assistant Controller who will have a hands-on approach that will grow into the Controller position while functioning in all aspects of Accounting and Human Resources. Some responsibilities will include oversight of the Accounts Payable process and team, financial reporting, taxes, subcontracts, insurance, and payroll. This position will also identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.

Pay Scale: $117,000 - $127,400 depending on experience + performance incentive plan
Job Duties:
- Monitor and assess credit card and vendor activities
- Review invoices and approved check runs
- Prepare monthly WMBE reports
- Prepare daily bank reconciliations
- Reconcile select balance sheet accounts and assist in monthly financial statement preparation
- Prepare daily and weekly reports
- Prepare weekly payroll tax deposits and quarterly payroll tax returns
- Prepare use tax returns
- Oversee and review all aspects of the subcontracting process
- Maintain subcontractor insurance certificates and compliance
- Assist with payroll duties and timesheet entry as needed
Required Qualifications:
- CPA
- 3 years of experience in Construction Accounting
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards
- 1 year of supervisory experience OR 1 year of assistant supervisory experience
- Advanced Excel skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong ability to multitasking and organizational skills to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of Construction Accounting
- 1 year of Human Resources experience
