MUST HAVE HOSPITALITY EXPERIENCE
Responsibilities:
As our Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for a myriad of tasks including, but not limited to:
1. Assisting in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements.
2. Managing journal entries, invoices etc. and reconciling accounts for the monthly or annual closing.
3. Supporting most aspects of accounting management (billing, tax forms, reporting etc.).
4. Participating in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices.
5. Assisting in the preparation of budgets or forecasts.
6. Helping in the development of reports for management or regulatory bodies.
7. Reviewing the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances.
8. Utilizing accounting IT system to facilitate processes and maintain records.
9. Assisting the controller in directing the financial activities of the organization.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will bring the following qualifications and attributes:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and financial management practices.
3. Experience with year-end close procedures and preparation of financials.
4. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with AP and AR, accrual, and general ledger.
5. Proficiency in accounting software.
6. Strong understanding of economic and banking processes.
7. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
8. Excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data.
9. Attention to detail and accuracy.
10. Ability to direct and supervise.
