Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance team. The Assistant Controller will aid the Controller in managing the company's accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards and regulations. The role demands a strategic thinker with outstanding leadership and analytical abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Controller in managing all facets of the accounting department, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Guarantee the timely and precise preparation of financial statements and reports following GAAP.
- Administer the month-end and year-end closing procedures, confirming the accuracy and currency of financial data.
- Aid in coordinating and conducting internal and external audits.
- Formulate, execute, and uphold accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Analyze budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, offering insights and recommendations to the executive team.
- Ensure tax compliance and the preparation of tax returns, in compliance with all levels of government regulations.
- Help manage cash flow, banking relations, and treasury operations.
- Mentor and cultivate the accounting team, promoting a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Seek out and apply process enhancements and accounting best practices.
- Handle additional related tasks as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- CPA certification is mandatory.
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting, including roles in supervision or management.
- Comprehensive understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Significant experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and ERP systems.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills.
