FULL TIME -- Sr. Accountant/Assistant Controller
HYBRID SCHEDULE!!!!
Must Have an Accounting Degree & Experience within a Leasing OR Financing Company. Lease Knowledge is EXTREMELY Key to this position.
This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who thrives in a bustling work environment and is well-versed in working closely with senior management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial reporting, audits, tax, truck leases, GAAP, month end close, reconciliations, and preparing financial statements.
1. Assist the Controller in managing and overseeing all aspects of the company’s financial and accounting functions including regulatory compliance and financial reporting.
2. Prepare and present financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
3. Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance.
4. Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations, review journal entries and ensure the accuracy of the financial statements.
5. Manage the preparation of audit schedules for external auditors and assist in the implementation of audit recommendations.
6. Manage the company's tax planning and compliance with all required federal, state, local, payroll, property, and other applicable taxes.
7. Handle financial reporting, preparing in-depth financial analyses, and providing expert financial perspective and opinions.
8. Manage the financial aspects of truck leases, ensuring that all transactions are conducted and recorded in accordance with GAAP.
9. Identify opportunities for performance improvement across the organization.
10. Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for future needs and investments.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA or related qualification is highly desirable.
2. Experience in a public accounting firm
3. Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations.
4. Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.).
5. Understanding of data analysis and forecasting.
6. Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and familiarity with relevant accounting software.
7. Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
8. Strong organization and communication skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
9. Ability to strategize and solve problems.
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
