Role and Responsibilities
- Direct the management of the monthly closing of the financial systems, ensuring all activities are executed accurately and in accordance with the closing calendar.
- Review month end financials, including income statement, cash flow and balance sheet, for accuracy and prepare certain reports for presentation to executive management.
- Coordinate with FP&A team to prepare variance explanations and analysis as part of month end closing process.
- Coordinate and review balance sheet reconciliations and issue resolution.
- Monitor and assess accounting processes and ERP functionality with a focus on driving efficiencies through system automation and process enhancements.
- Maintain and/or develop and communicate internal accounting controls and policies. Ensure that accounting processes and operational functions are designed effectively to meet standard internal and GAAP controls and are implemented and consistently performed for all related activities.
- Support all MSO accounting activities including month end accruals, tracking of payments received for various payor programs, facilitating associated payments to providers, platform invoicing and other MSO activities for multiple legal entities working with the RBE and MA financial analyst.
- Support general accounting activities including employee benefits, payroll, lease accounting, fixed assets, insurance, intercompany, taxes and other activities.
- Direct and manage departmental staff through goal setting, guidance, and coaching. Prioritize and assign departmental goals and projects; and provide developmental opportunities.
- Direct third-party accounting firm in month end closing activities, as well as financial statement audit support.
- Oversight of accounting, cash management, equity distributions and budgeting activities for Lightpath Health and HQ entities.
- Provide support for budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Coordination of the annual audits for MSO, Lightpath Health and support of the 401k audit.
- Communicate financial results and prepare various reporting and analysis for financial and non-financial leaders.
- Collaborate with teams across the organization.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, CPA or MBA preferred
- Minimum of 10 years accounting experience, preferably in healthcare
- Detail-oriented with advanced math and analytical thinking skills.
- Proven track record of creating efficiencies and optimizing accounting functions.
- Power user of excel
- Excellent communication, organizational, technology, leadership and presentation skills; be comfortable interacting multiple stakeholders at different levels
- Experience with general ledger functions, AP systems and the month-end/year-end close process
- Previous experience working with NetSuite, or similar ERP
- Demonstrate ability to establish priorities and work independently
- Previous experience managing projects across different teams
