The Assistant Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, including cost accounting, general ledger management, and internal controls. Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all general ledger activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions.
- Conduct cost accounting and cost to completion accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting and to support strategic decision-making.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with SOX and other regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements and reports, including variance analysis reports.
- Develop and implement financial forecasting models to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely budgeting and financial reporting.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings, and lead initiatives to implement these improvements.
- Provide leadership and support to finance department staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is required; advanced degree or professional certification (such as CPA or CMA) is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, with a focus on cost accounting, general ledger management, and internal controls.
- Strong knowledge of SOX compliance and other regulatory requirements.
- Experience with financial forecasting and variance analysis.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and mentor staff.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills; experience with financial software and systems is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
