Our organization is seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who has a solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Controller in managing the financial health of our company by analyzing our financial data and preparing financial reports. This position requires a minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
As the Assistant Controller, you will:
1. Assist in preparing financial statements and reports, ensuring they are accurate and timely.
2. Oversee the company's financial and accounting systems, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and laws.
3. Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the company's assets, ensuring that all transactions are conducted according to approved policies and procedures.
4. Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts, providing detailed analysis and commentary on variances.
5. Coordinate with external auditors, providing all necessary information and documentation for audit processes.
6. Assist in the management of cash flow and forecasting, ensuring the company's financial obligations are met.
7. Participate in strategic planning, risk management, and capital request processes.
8. Provide leadership and support to accounting staff, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Assistant Controller position, you must have:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or a professional certification such as CPA or CMA is required.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on financial reporting and internal controls.
3. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
4. Experience with accounting software and systems, with a high level of proficiency in MS Excel.
5. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
6. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey financial information to non-financial staff and stakeholders.
