RAVN provides combat or high maneuver training for pilots, RDT&E, and maintenance services with its fully owned fleet of aircraft.
About A2G International (“A2G”):
A2G International is redefining the aviation landscape with its groundbreaking services and products in relation to surveillance. Specializing in both commercial and defense sectors, A2G International is committed to delivering excellence and pioneering advancements in the aviation realm of the ISR sector defense sector. A2G provides “eyes in the sky” services supporting border patrol, counter animal poaching, counter narcotics and space aviation support.
Both firms are on contracts issued by branches within the Department of Defense and are targeting to be on even larger contracts by year end. As we continue to grow and evolve, we are seeking a dynamic Assistant Controller to support RAVN and A2G, subsidiaries of PEG, contributing to their financial management and strategic growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both private and public accounting, with experience in the government contracting industry and DCAA audits being highly advantageous. This role will entail hands-on accounting and reporting management.
What you get to do:
Supervise and manage day-to-day accounting, bookkeeping and treasury activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll (multi-state preferred) and general ledger accounting
Facilitate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close procedures, ensuring proper period-end cut-off, fixed asset schedule accuracy, expense accrual completeness and timely recording of financials with adherence to reporting schedules
Prepare more complex accounting entries and reconciliations
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP
Prepare and maintain depreciation schedule of aircraft and high-tech equipment
Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures that support DCAA related compliance requirements including ad-hoc DCAA audits, Incurred Cost Submissions, etc.
Assist in analyzing specific task order P&L
Assist in the treasury management process, including payment processing, contract cost tracking, analyzing variances against budget and fielding ad hoc inquiries related to project spends
Aid in developing and documenting accounting policies such as ASC 606, implementing new accounting standards and monitoring changes in applicable laws, regulations and industry-specific authoritative guidance
Support cash flow forecasting and projecting liquidity needs
Work closely with business units and functional leaders to align accounting with overall corporate objectives
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
Minimum of 6 years of relevant progressive experience in government contracting industry, with at least 2 years public accounting experience at a top 10 accounting firm
Knowledge of government invoicing systems such as Wide Area WorkFlow (WAWF) is a plus
Proven experience as an assistant controller or similar position with demonstrated growth in responsibilities
Thorough understanding of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements
Experience working with SAGE is a plus
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance
Results oriented, ability to multi-task and can thrive in a high-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
