The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Senior Financial Controller and Business Managers to produce financial reporting in line with group policy and the financial calendar.
You will produce cost center management accounts and monitor performance (profitability and cash) and explain key variances and key performance indicators to management. You will also produce budget and financial forecasts and contribute to the broader three-year business plan. Additionally, you will provide support to various projects, such as investment analysis, financing, and auditing. Likewise, you will work with the Finance group to assist with the roll-out of the group’s applications.
A global Business Line with assets developed across several geographical basins, a multi-cultural environment, and bookings over several legal entities with varying levels of complexity relating to tax structure, local regulatory environment and general market pressures. Situated within an international organization going through a transformation of the business model, the primary challenges would include:
• Developing relationships with multiple groups within the company (Accounting teams / Operations / Sales Management) • Complex accounting guidance in relation to Revenue IFRS 15 / Asset treatment (preferred not required)
• Complexity in certain regions, dealing with multiple entities / foreign exchange rate exposure / local regulations
• Client interactions / dealing with 3rd party payment systems (requirements & setups) in order to confirm accurate submission of invoicing (and timely cash collections)
• Vendor interactions / BL Operations – working with 3rd parties on project costs due to exit from acquisition business
Accounting undergraduate, MBA, or equivalent relevant work experience required.
• CPA / Chartered Accountant desirable.
• 7+ years experience in Controlling / Finance roles.
• Proven experience in projects involving Financial Information Systems and Analysis
• Good technical skills including revenue recognition / contract management, statutory accounting flows, problem solving, analysis; ability to understand and explain complex transactions.
• Excellent interpersonal, detail oriented, communication, and staff management.
