- Accounting Expertise: Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting standards.
- Leadership: Ability to manage and develop accounting staff.
- Audit and Compliance: Experience supporting audits and implementing internal controls.
- Mortgage Accounting: Familiarity with mortgage servicing, loan balances, and related reconciliations.
- Problem Solving: Analytical skills to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
- Lead a team handling general accounting tasks, including cash, receivables, fixed assets, and revenue.
- Oversee monthly closing processes and generate reports with variance explanations.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and reporting needs.
- Reconcile mortgage-related accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Research accounting standards for proper treatment of financial matters.
- Support company audits and implement efficient accounting policies and procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement in processes and collaborate with the Controller on strategic initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Active CPA license.
- 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or mortgage servicing.
- SOX compliance experience (preferred).
- Proven management experience in accounting teams.
