Position Overview:
The Assistant Controller will serve as a company-wide technical accounting resource for ad-hoc questions, initiatives, and compliance issues. This pivotal role will also oversee the company’s stock-based compensation accounting, maintain the capitalization table, research relevant accounting guidance for technical issues, and perform related job responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
- Financial Statement Drafting: Draft Audited Financial Statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Technical Accounting Subject Expert: Serve as a company-wide technical accounting resource for ad-hoc questions and initiatives, providing guidance and solutions.
- Contract Analysis: Analyze significant new customer contracts for proper accounting treatment, ensuring financial accuracy.
- Revenue Recognition Oversight: Oversee revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 and ASC 842, optimizing revenue management.
- Stock-Based Compensation Management: Oversee stock-based compensation accounting, including calculating the accounting impact and related journal entries, and accounting for new grants for proper treatment.
- Business Combinations Accounting: Assist in Accounting for Business Combinations, optimizing financial reporting.
- Technical Accounting Oversight: Oversee technical accounting for debt and debt modification, ensuring financial accuracy.
- Debt Compliance Reporting: Assist in the preparation of debt compliance reporting, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
- Guidance Research: Research relevant accounting guidance and recommend accounting and disclosure requirements for complex non-routine transactions, providing financial clarity.
- Accounting Policy Development: Assist in drafting accounting policies and updates to existing policies, optimizing financial compliance.
- Impairment Reviews: Perform reviews, as necessary, of applicable assets for impairment, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- Enterprise Business Segment Oversight: Act as a subsidiary controller for the enterprise business segment, ensuring financial accuracy.
- Month-End Close: Prepare month-end journal entries, including depreciation, prepaids, and accruals.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports to summarize the company’s financial status.
- Balance Sheet Management: Produce and manage balance sheets, ensuring consistency with organizational objectives.
- Fixed and Prepaid Assets: Manage fixed asset and prepaid asset accounts, optimizing accuracy and utilization.
- Internal Controls and Policies: Work with the company financial team to create and implement internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Discrepancy Resolution: Identify solutions to discrepancies in financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Ad Hoc Duties: Undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as needed, contributing to the financial well-being of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required with CPA preferred.
- 8-10 years of professional experience, with a preference for public accounting experience, to ensure financial proficiency.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of progressive leadership experience.
- Comprehensive and current understanding of financial statements, U.S. GAAP, and relevant accounting standards.
- Experience working in an emerging growth company, as well as experience in a private equity or investor portfolio company, is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations preferred).
