About the Job
Vaco Boston has partnered with a highly regarded educational organization that is seeking an Assistant Controller.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for managing a small team
· Oversee month end closing process.
· Oversee responsibilities of staff for reconciling all balance sheet accounts, including development of a formal documented review of monthly reconciliations.
· Responsible for reconciling gift accounting records
· Oversee reconciliation of A/R, Loan Receivables, and bad debt allowances to the Student Accounts.
· Responsible for monthly investment and endowment Accounting
· Work closely with the Controller in planning and coordinating annual audits.
· Work closely with Controller to compile the annual Form 990, Form 990T, and other tax and compliance filings.
Required Qualifications:
· A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
· 7-10+ years accounting experience in education. 3+ years supervisory experience.
· Demonstrated experience being responsible for the monthly closing process.
· Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks within tight timelines and simultaneously manage several projects.

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
