Job Details
Assistant Controller for an established franchisor serving a network of 1,000+ franchises and poised for strategic growth. The position is a hands-on role and s/he will be the process owner for all transactional and general ledger accounting activities as well as operating bank activities. This position reports directly to the Corporate Controller.
Essential Functions:
1. Overall responsibility of the general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and treasury functions of the company and subsidiaries.
2. Assist in the supervision of all Accounting department personnel.
3. Oversee and own the monthly and year-end financial statement close process, including the preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP, internal management reports, and operational reports.
4. Work closely with the senior management in preparing annual operating and capital budgets
5. Assist in the annual external audit by providing schedules and other information requested
6. Manage accounting setups and report functionality within our ERP and financial reporting software programs.
7. Develop and implement consistent and best-in-class accounting policies, operating procedures, internal controls, and financial systems infrastructure to support business growth, partnering effectively with cross-functional teams to identify and implement operational improvements.
8. Continuously look for opportunities to optimize and automate key accounting processes to streamline operations, reduce risks and drive a faster financial close.
9. Own relationships with external auditors and accounting/tax services providers.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- CPA required
- 7+ years professional experience
- Forward-thinking, analytical and problem-solving mindset with a desire to constantly improve the status quo.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally, adapt to changing priorities, manage multiple priorities with accuracy and efficiency while meeting deadlines.
- Experience using and optimizing ERP systems (preferably SalesForce) and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Detail-oriented
