The Assistant Controller is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely closing of the company's books and plays a vital role in supporting the business through financial analysis and strategic advice. This position also involves managing the general ledger, overseeing annual inventory, and collaborating with external auditors and the parent company.
Essential Functions / Duties:
- Month-End Closing: Perform the month-end closing process to ensure timely and accurate financial statement reporting.
- General Ledger Integrity: Preserve the integrity of the general ledger through analysis and interpretation.
- Inventory Oversight: Oversee the annual physical inventory process.
- Financial Analysis and Strategy: Provide insightful financial analysis, support, and strategic advice related to business activities.
- Auditor Collaboration: Work with outside auditors and the parent company to collect and report information as required.
- Staff Management: Manage the staff accountant to ensure the timely and accurate processing of payables and receivables.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Complete other ad hoc projects and analyses as needed.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
