Job Title: Assistant Controller
Role Overview: As the Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for managing the company's financial operations, including financial planning, analysis, reporting, and compliance. You will work closely with the executive team to support strategic decision-making and ensure the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Oversee all financial activities, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records and statements.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization. Provide insights to support strategic planning and business decision-making.
- Reconciliations: Leading the team in reviewing and completing monthly reconciliations.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards. Prepare and file financial statements in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Internal Controls: Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the reliability of financial data. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with department heads to develop accurate and realistic budgets. Monitor performance against budgets and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Cash Management: Manage cash flow and treasury functions to ensure adequate liquidity for business operations. Implement strategies to optimize working capital and cash flow.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Provide guidance and mentorship to team members.
- Tax Compliance: Oversee tax planning and compliance, ensuring timely and accurate filing of tax returns and adherence to tax regulations. Work with external auditors and tax consultants as needed.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports to the executive team and board of directors, providing clear and accurate information to support decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in financial management, accounting, or related fields.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and financial reporting. Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as QuickBooks, Excel, and ERP systems.
- Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership and team management skills. Ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve goals.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to present financial information clearly and concisely to diverse stakeholders.
