We are seeking a motivated leader with management or supervisory experience to help expand and enhance our Patient Access Department. Strong leadership skills are essential. Candidates with prior experience in medical billing/coding or patient access/registration are highly desirable.
Location:
Geneva, NY, or Penn Yan, NY, in New York State's picturesque Finger Lakes Region.
Role Summary:
As the Patient Access Supervisor, you will oversee the Patient Access team, ensuring their work aligns with payer and regulatory requirements. You will also provide Meditech training to decentralized access areas, conduct quality assurance reviews, and cover open shifts as needed. This role requires collaboration across departments and a commitment to fostering a professional and healing environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
Prepare staff schedules, ensure adequate department coverage, and process payroll.
Actively monitor productivity and quality, conducting focused reviews as needed.
Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Perform daily census verification to ensure accurate statistics.
Identify and correct duplicate medical records and insurance errors, providing feedback and training.
Foster effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience Requirements:
Minimum:
Experience in a medical office setting.
Knowledge of the revenue cycle, accounts receivable, CPT, and ICD-10 coding.
Proficiency in cash collection and balancing.
Strong communication skills and accurate data entry abilities.
Preferred:
Supervisory or training experience, including process improvement and employee evaluations.
Familiarity with employee scheduling, staff meetings, and committee participation.
Three years of experience in Patient Access or Patient Financial Services.
Skills:
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
Computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Knowledge of State and Federal regulatory requirements and JCAHO standards.
Bilingual skills are a plus.
