Assistant Construction Project Manager
Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our team for a critical project under the Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery - Mitigation (CDBG-DR-MIT) Program in Puerto Rico. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting project management activities, ensuring compliance with program guidelines, and contributing to the successful implementation of disaster mitigation initiatives.
Responsibilities: Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop, implement, and monitor project plans.
- Coordinate activities with various stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and community representatives.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration among team members to meet project milestones.
Compliance Management:
- Familiarize yourself with CDBG-DR-MIT program guidelines and regulations.
- Monitor project activities to ensure compliance with program requirements and relevant policies.
- Work closely with regulatory authorities to address any compliance concerns and maintain necessary documentation.
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Assist in the development and management of project budgets, ensuring accurate tracking of expenses.
- Monitor resource allocation and utilization, identifying potential areas for cost savings or optimization.
- Collaborate with finance teams to reconcile financial data and prepare regular reports.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Identify potential risks and challenges associated with project implementation.
- Develop strategies to mitigate risks and address issues promptly.
- Regularly assess project progress and adjust plans as needed to ensure successful outcomes.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare comprehensive and timely reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, progress reports, and relevant correspondence.
- Facilitate audits and evaluations as required by program guidelines.
Community Engagement:
- Work closely with community leaders and residents to ensure their input is considered in project planning and execution.
- Organize and participate in community meetings to provide updates and gather feedback.
- Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
