Role Summary
Assistant Store Managers must ensure that daily retail management procedures are performed as required while promoting a company image of excellence. They will do this through strong work ethic, leadership, and the consistent delivery of impeccable team support and customer service.
Typical daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist Store Manager in supervising Team Members and monitoring the store operations to maximize efficiency, minimize errors, and respond to customer and team needs in a timely fashion while ensuring proper procedures and effective service is provided to customers and patients in accordance with company policy and Colorado cannabis laws and regulations.
- Assist Store Manager in ensuring all team members are trained on and understand all safety, security and Colorado State and Company compliance standards.
- Assist Store Manager in completing and overseeing all daily operations including: correct cash handling and discount application, reviewing of reports for proper money reconciliation, verification of proper documentation, opening and closing procedures.
- Assist Store Manager in maintaining current and accurate store records of medical patient data, compliance and other data as directed or requested.
- Completing periodic reports, profit analysis, and auditing transactions.
- Motivating and working together with employees to meet and exceed sales goals while creatively cultivating long-term relationships with consumers and teammates.
- Accurately utilizing, monitoring and reconciling PotCo's Point of Sale system, cash handling, and dispensing of product.
- Assist Store Manager in accurately monitoring and reporting sales, transfers, etc. to METRC.
- Overseeing the cleanliness and organization of store.
- Assist Store Manager in maintaining and optimizing marketing expenses and services.
- Assist Store Manager in creating monthly employee scheduling and managing employee work hours and time off requests.
- Assist Store Manager in evaluating job applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with HR, Leads, and upper management and interviewing applicants on a consistent set of qualifications.
- Training and motivating the team in accordance with the company's mission, vision, goals and objective as well as re-training existing employees when needed.
- Ensuring effective communication between entire management team.
- Assist Store Manager in administering employee evaluations, incident reports, and disciplinary action when necessary.
- Overseeing the store's inventory, ensuring all deliveries, counts, purchase ordering, comparison research, adjustments, reporting, and reconciliations are correct, compliant, and in accordance with Colorado State cannabis laws and regulations and Company policies.
- Assist Store Manager in approving and placing product orders with Store and upper management teams.
- Assist State and Local government auditors, inspectors and law enforcement with inventory, sales and compliance audits.
- Approve submitted daily weight adjustments and make reflective adjustments in METRC.
- Ensure that all dispensary paperwork is processed, filed and maintained compile end of month paperwork.
- Providing excellent customer service, maintaining customer relationships, and handling issues, concerns and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintaining in-depth knowledge of cannabis strains and products carried in the store as well as products available in the Colorado cannabis industry and cannabis industry product trends knowledge.
- Assist Store Manager in communicating the store's sales information periodically as well as informing employees of new updates and general developments in the company.
- Assist Store Manager in implementing and following guidelines to meet Company standards of operations and maintain compliance.
- Maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
- Ensuring timely, compliant, and secure opening/closing of store
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Must possess a valid occupational Key badge from the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division and Colorado State Driver's License or Identification Card.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to operate standard office equipment
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Basic math skills
- Three or more years of experience in retail required; must have at least 1 year of experience in a management role within a retail cannabis or cannabis customer service environment
- Preferred Skills:
- Prior cannabis industry experience a plus
- Cash handling experience
- Customer service experience
- Point of Sale experience
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Ability to work 7 days per week including holidays, days, nights, and weekends
- Ability to sit, squat, bend, and kneel repetitively throughout a workday
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability and willingness to work in the following conditions:
- Exposure to pollen, allergens, and chemical pesticides in the grow facility or greenhouse
- General office environment
- Extended computer usage
- Extended phone usage including teleconferences
- Work environments that include exposure to, but not limited to, chemicals, fumes, dust, odors, extreme heat temperatures, heights, indoor AC, no AC, motion, noise, protective gear, vibrations, and water
