**Pay rate: $32/hr**
**We are looking for an** **Assistant Building Engineer** **to join one of our Fortune 500 clients.**
**Job Description**
**Responsibilities:**
+ Perform general preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, equipment, and grounds.
+ Assist with monitoring building system operations and performance under moderate supervision.
+ Utilize multiple trade skills, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, and HVAC.
+ Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
+ Maintain equipment according to preventive maintenance programs and manufacturer specifications.
+ Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain the professional appearance of the property, equipment, engineering spaces, and common areas.
+ Manage an energy program to optimize system efficiency and minimize operating costs.
+ Inspect building systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing, to ensure operation within design capabilities and prescribed environmental conditions.
+ Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of building systems, including plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shops, and HVAC.
+ Perform day-to-day repairs, emergency maintenance, and preventive maintenance.
+ Complete maintenance and repair records as required.
+ Maintain the building lighting system, including element and ballast replacements or repairs.
+ Perform additional tasks such as welding, carpentry, furniture assembly, and locksmithing as needed.
+ Respond promptly to emergencies, summoning additional assistance when necessary.
**Qualifications:**
+ High school diploma or GED, along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience and/or trade school training.
+ An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
+ Universal CFC certification preferred, or actively working toward obtaining CFC certification and/or a local or state license in mechanical or HVAC trade.
+ A valid driver's license may be required.
**Physical Requirements:**
+ Ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and lift/carry heavy loads (50 lbs. or more).
