TITLE: Assistant Branch Manager
REPORTS TO: Branch Manager
Position Summary
This position is responsible for partnering with the Branch Manager to manage, lead, and direct all branch operations and sales performance aspects. Promote a member-centric, proactive consultative selling environment, ensuring the smooth operations of the frontline by understanding all frontline associate roles and responsibilities. The Assistant Branch Manager coaches and develops associates by providing training on procedures, processes, sales, and referral techniques by being the Referral Champion of the branch. Maintains thorough knowledge of all branch software and equipment. Provides exceptional member service and sets an example for other associates. Exhibits expertise in explaining the features and benefits of all Credit Union products and services. Adheres to all Credit Union policies and procedures while resolving complex member issues that require a management-level decision. Assists the Branch Manager with operations and scheduling and provides member service on the frontline as needed. Demonstrates teamwork through positive interaction and cooperation with fellow associates, members of management, and other departments. Supports and promotes the Credit Union's Vision, Mission, and Core Values.
Primary Responsibilities
In addition to proficiency in all Frontline duties and responsibilities, the Assistant Branch Manager will be responsible for the following:
- Ensure adequate staffing schedules for efficient branch operation.
- Oversees day-to-day operations of the branch.
- Serves in a leadership role, including providing operational authorizations/approvals.
- Coaches and develops branch associates to meet branch and individual production goals, including sales and referral techniques, technical acumen, and people skills.
- Adheres to all internal policies and procedures. Maintains compliance with Federal laws and regulations set forth by all regulatory agencies.
- Communicates updates or changes to policies, procedures, and processes to all branch associates.
- Communicate any branch office or personnel issues to the Branch Manager.
- Ensures the opening and closing procedures are completed, assisting when necessary.
- Trains, coaches, and supervises all frontline associates.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of all branch operations, including equipment and software.
- Establishes membership and opens consumer deposit product accounts.
- Originates, processes, and closes consumer loans.
- Perform such duties as may be required from time to time for the overall management and operation of the Credit Union.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assists Branch Manager with quarterly check-ins and annual performance evaluations.
- Ensures that associates are maximizing opportunities to cross-sell products and services.
- Knowledgeable of all Branch Manager duties and responsibilities, including monitoring branch performance, performing audits, reviewing reports, and managing cash levels.
- Responsible for the branch operation in the Branch Manager's absence.
Educational/Experience Requirements
- Two years of college or an Associate Degree.
- Minimum three years of related experience in the banking/financial services industry.
- One year of lending experience.
- Equivalent work experience may be substituted for education requirements.

Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to model service excellence.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and to work independently.
- Demonstrated a history of producing high-quality work.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex member issues and transactions, consistently providing high-quality member service, and meeting and exceeding sales goals.
- Bilingual language skills are a plus.
- Ability to work various schedules and on Saturdays as needed.
- Ability to travel to other branches as needed.
