Job Summary
The Assistant Branch Manager (ABM) assists and supports the manager in leading the branch team to meet and exceed performance targets, ensuring operational excellence, and providing an exceptional customer experience. The Assistant Manager assumes responsibility in the branch manager’s absence, and plays a key role in building and retaining customer relationships. The Assistant Manager is also responsible for helping customers by discovering financial needs, processing transactions resolving customer issues, opening new accounts and offering convenience services. Position is responsible for being a role model for Flagstar Bank’s customer-centric culture, while embracing diversity and maintaining ethics and integrity.
Job Responsibilities:
Sales: Meet andexceed sales goalsby working with customers tobuildand deepen relationships byuncovering financial needs, and recommending the best products, services andsolutionsto meet those needs. The Sr. Assistant Branch Manager maintainsstrong knowledge ofbankproducts and services, and ensure the customer'sneedsaremetbypartnering with the appropriate specialist (MLOand FC) to serve the customer'smortgageandinvestment needs. Conduct behaviors to meet with more customers such asproactiveoutboundcallingandgeneratingreferrals.
Customerrelations/satisfaction: Process Transactions/CustomerService. Greet customers and ask questionsto determine their needs. Process financialtransactions (cash and non-cash bank transactions,balanceinquiries, cashier's checks, money orders, cash advances with credit cards, etc.)inan accurate and efficient manner in accordance with operational and regulatory guidelines. Assist with customer questions and/or issuesrelatingtotheir accounts. Demonstrate strong customers serviceskills and the ability to resolve problems andprevent customer dissatisfaction.
Coaching: Promote and model the Flagstar values. Required to assist branchmanagerto coach and develop team. Assist with sales coaching byobserving the branch team fromthe perspective ofthe customer. Coach team members ontheproper execution ofthesales formula andpriorityworkwhilemodelingthe desired behaviors.
Operations: Assist branch manager inmaintainingoperationalsoundness for thebranchandadheringtobankand regulatory guidelines. May include balancing cash drawers at the end ofeach shift, processingCTRreportsandtransactions, opening andclosingproceduresofthebranch, ATM and vault balancing, opening and closing proceduresof the branch, etc.Acquire and maintain up-to-date knowledge ofapplicable policies, procedures, guidelines and bank operating systems. Ensureoperational efficiency and accuracy asitrelatesto all policies,procedures,compliance,origination, corporate audits, fee schedules, workschedules, and the overallbranch operation.
Communityinvolvement/CRA: Remain involvedin the community asappropriate and assist branchmanagerwith community events,etc.
Job Requirements
1+yearretailbankingoperations and sales experience withknowledgeofbankservices and products required withdemonstratedleadershipandprovensales results -OR-2+yearsretail (non-banking) sales managementexperiencewithproven results
NMLS Registration,preferred
Life, Health, Series6/63, preferred
HS Diploma, GED or Foreign Equivalent, required
Proven customer service skills and the ability to resolve problems and prevent customer dissatisfaction
Demonstratedeffectivenessin managing operationalrequirementsand procedures in a RetailBank
Desire and willingness to call onprospects and existing clients for sales opportunities. Provensalesexecution.
