TITLE:Branch Operations Specialist
REPORTS TO:Branch Manager
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
In addition to proficiency in all Member Service Specialist levels and Loan & Relationship Specialist duties and responsibilities, the Branch Operations Specialist will be responsible for the following:
- Assists the Branch Manager with branch schedules and/or works the teller line, drive-thru or member service areas as needed.
- Serves in a lead role in Member Service Specialist andLoan and Relationship Specialist functions, including providing operational authorizations/approvals.
- Coaches and develops branch associates to meet branch and individual production goals; including sales and referral techniques, technical acumen and people skills.
- Ensures that credit union policies and procedures are adhered to. Maintains compliance with Federal laws and regulations set forth by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) and other regulatory agencies.
- Performs all job responsibilities with a positive approach at all times.
- Resolves member problems that require a management-level decision.
- Advises Branch Manager of any department or branch office issues.
- Manages the security and safety of the branch by having responsibility to adhere to security and safety policies and procedures, and to alert staff to any changes.
- Ensures that the opening and closing procedures and end of day balancing of the branch are being completed by the Senior Member Service Specialist, branch associates, and assisting when necessary.
- Ensures that the scanning process is completed each day.
- Trains and supervises Member Service Specialists and assists the Loan and Relationship Specialist.
- Fulfills duties to gain and retain members by providing exceptional member service. Is responsible for informing members about and explaining the benefits of Service One's products and services.
- Maintains a working knowledge of all branch software and equipment, including but not limited to recyclers, STAR, credit cards, etc. Responsible for all equipment and software.
- Assists individuals in establishing membership and opening deposit product accounts according to established policies and procedures.
- Originates, processes, and closes consumer loans according to established policies and procedures.
- Assists members with account maintenance, automatic payments, wire transfers and other service requests.
- Balances ATMs as required.
- Operates a cash drawer as needed.
- Works Saturdays as required.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Branch Operations Specialist works alongside the Branch Managerto:
- Maintain a highly motivated, well-trained staff along with maintaining effective associate relations.
- Ensure adequate staffing schedules for efficient branch operation.
- Assist Branch Manager with quarterly check-ins and annual performance evaluations.
- Monitor key products/sales withinbranchto ensure profitable and sound business practices for the credit union, a high quality of service for members, and that associates are maximizing opportunities to cross-sell products and services.
- Ensure the smooth day to day operations of the bank.
- Communication with the Branch Manager and VP of Branch Operations in order to bring branch associates up-to-date on any new developments, changing regulations, and other related business information.
- Keep informed on the daily operational activities that branch managers perform include monitoring branch financial activities, performing audits, reviewing reports, and managing cash levels.
- Maintain responsibility for the branch in absence of the Branch Manager and have a working knowledge of these responsibilities.
- Perform such duties as may be required from time to time for the overall management and operation of the Credit Union.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Requires a complete knowledge of deposit and consumer loan policies and procedures, and credit granting practices. Accuracy, excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and interviewing skills are necessary.
Requires proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and the core processing platform. Mental alertness, punctuality, dependability, neatness in appearance, and a cooperative attitude towards members and other associates are also required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Requires education equivalent to two years of college or an Associate Degree and at least three years of related experience in the banking/financial services industry. Equivalent work experience may be substituted for education requirement.
