A busy healthcare practice looking for a full-time experienced Assistant Bookkeeper. Strong knowledge of Ms. Word, Excel, and QuickBooks. Experience in healthcare setting is a plus.

Job duties include, but not limited to:
- Assisting bookkeeper of all aspects of account payable, receivable and payroll
- Highly accurate data entry
- Summarizes details on separate ledgers and transfers to general ledger.
- Balances books and compiles reports on cash receipts and expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, profit and loss, and other factors pertinent to operation of clinic.
- Reconciles bank accounts. Post all amount charges and adjustments
- Prepare month end report for clinic.
- Generates bi-monthly billing, if necessary.
- Generates payroll checks and distributes or mails paychecks.
- Provides and coordinates banking information for payroll.
- Works with payroll vendor or processing payroll, receiving all necessary reports and employee W-2's
- Works with necessary vendors to ensure that all equipment and software programs used are up to date and fully functional.
- Reviews benefit accruals, pension, and other eligibility information, making adjustments a status changes occur.
- Works with HR/PR Administrative Assistant on new hires, benefits, pension and profit sharing, and terminations including COBRA notification.
- Purchases office supplies
- Knowledge of new technology related to accounting software platform
Education:
- High school diploma or GED and at least 12 hours of college accounting courses. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for two years of bookkeeping experience.
Experience:
- Three years of bookkeeping experience including one-year accounting experience in a health care organization.
