LC State invites applications for the position of Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing & Promotions.
Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $52,000 - $55,000
Degree Required: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sports marketing, promotions, or a related area.
- Strong understanding of marketing principles, digital media, and fan engagement strategies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with social media management, content creation, and data analysis
- Knowledge of collegiate athletic rules and regulations (if applicable to the institution).
- Additional Information:
- This position may require evening and weekend work, especially during the athletic season.
- Travel may be required for certain events and promotional activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and design applications such as InDesign or Photoshop
- CPR certification preferred. (May obtain certification upon arrival)
Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy Development:
In coordination with LC State Communications & Marketing, SID, and College Advancement:
• Develop and execute marketing plans for all athletic programs, focusing on increasing visibility, attendance, and community engagement.
• Collaborate with the athletic department to create promotional materials, including digital, print, and social media content.
• Identify target audiences and tailor marketing campaigns to specific demographics to maximize outreach and engagement.
Game Day Promotions:
• Plan and coordinate in-game promotions, halftime shows, and special events to enhance the fan experience.
• Consistent with signed agreements - work with vendors, sponsors, and community partners to organize giveaways, contests, and themed nights.
• Ensure that all game day promotions align with the overall LC State marketing strategy and brand image.
Fan Engagement:
• Develop and implement strategies to increase fan engagement through social media, email campaigns, and other digital platforms.
• Manage the athletic department's social media accounts, creating and curating content to drive interaction and growth.
• Analyze fan behavior and feedback to continuously improve engagement strategies.
Sponsorship and Revenue Generation:
In Coordination with College Advancement (Foundation Office):
• Assist in identifying and securing sponsorship opportunities for the athletic department.
• Develop partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and the Warrior Athletic Association to create mutually beneficial promotional opportunities and fundraising events.
• Work with the development team to create fundraising campaigns, special events, and camps that support the athletics department.
Brand Management:
• Maintain and enhance the brand image of the athletic department through consistent messaging, creative marketing efforts, and collaboration with LC State Communications & Marketing.
• Ensure all marketing materials adhere to the institution's branding guidelines.
• Conduct regular market research to stay informed on industry trends and competitor activities.
Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate with the athletic department staff, coaches, student-athletes, student organizations, and the Warrior Athletic Association to ensure alignment of marketing and revenue-generating efforts with team goals.
• Serve as the primary point-of-contact for external media and marketing inquiries.
• Provide regular reports on marketing initiatives, campaign performance, and fan engagement metrics to the athletic director.
Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students.
