Position Summary:
The Townsend Institute at Concordia University Irvine announces a full-time faculty position to serve as a Core Faculty responsible for teaching, mentoring, advising and collaborating in the curricular and accreditation efforts of the MA Counseling Program.
Program Responsibilities
- With the Director and Core Faculty and ensure all program components are aligned with the Institute and University's mission, as well as appropriate WUSCUS and CACREP standards.
- Assists in student evaluation and review with the Director and core faculty.
- Teach and manage courses effectively in an online environment.
- Collaborates on the Program, Practicum and Internship forms and handbooks.
- Represents the department on at least one university committee.
- Is a member of Curriculum Committees for courses that they have expertise or teach as requested by the Director.
- Assists with CACREP Accreditation preparation and site visits to ensure accreditation of the program.
- Collaborates with the Graduate Admissions office in answering more detailed questions about the counseling program and participates in the student admissions process.
- Assists with improving course content and online delivery with the Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
- A faculty member in good standing for a minimum of 5 years.
- A terminal degree in Counselor Education and Supervision (EdD or PhD) from a CACREP accredited program.
- Licensure in Mental Health Counseling or Licensed Professional Counselor with a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience
- Ability and willingness to undergo training in the Townsend model.
