Job Type and Duration: 6 month+ Contract
Client is looking for two Assembly Technicians; one in the Systems area and the other in the Columns area.
The System Assembly Technician is responsible for the assembly of all components on skidded systems. This will include mounting all pumps, instruments, heat exchangers, piping, and valves as well as sheet metal flat work which may require welding and polishing per drawings and 3D models.

Client is looking for two Assembly Technicians; one in the Systems area and the other in the Columns area.
The System Assembly Technician is responsible for the assembly of all components on skidded systems. This will include mounting all pumps, instruments, heat exchangers, piping, and valves as well as sheet metal flat work which may require welding and polishing per drawings and 3D models.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in skid assembly as needed:
- Ability to safely use saws, porta band saws, drills, air tools, right angle grinders and various polishing equipment.
- Responsible for running air lines and wires from instruments to control cabinet
- Ability to polish out welds on all the above to a #4 finish.
- Use Solid Works to pick dimensions on models to locate, mount, and check locations of parts and components.
- Read Prints and P&IDs to fabricate brackets, hangers, pipelines (tubing), modify frames, mount all components required on a skidded system with minimal supervision.
- Offer suggestions or methods of improving fabrication from past experience. GMP
- Ability to compare drawings for fabrication to vendors against solid works model for accuracy.
- Basic knowledge of pumps, valves, Hex, Flowmeters and other equipment on skidded systems with regard to proper working installation.

D. MINIMUM/PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5 years hands-on mechanical skills
- Familiarity with commonly used tools
- Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office skills
- Basic math and ability to read tape measures, Scales, and Calipers to make accurate measurements on parts and frames.
- Proficient at Stainless Steel welding on 16ga sheet metal with and without filler.
- Ability to work from CAD dwgs and models for placement of piping and components.
- Basic assembly skills for bolting, clamping, and mounting components square and level or pitched if necessary.
- Lift up to 50Lbs
- POSITION SUMMARY:
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (90% work time):
1. | Utilize and strictly follow Company procedures, work instructions, engineering technical drawings, datasheets, BOMs, and P&IDs to ensure safety, quality, and consistent accuracy. | |
2. | Assemble biopharma equipment (DAC and SCS columns, hydraulic carts, and other pieces of column-related equipment). | |
3. | Assist with the qualification of assembled , including completion of the essential CofCs per Company Work Instructions. | |
4. | Complete basic fabricated parts rework (polishing, thread chasing, grinding, etc.) | |
5. | Reviewing orders in ERP (Navision). | |
6. | Prepare equipment for crating (packing equipment components and maintenance hardware, wiping off the equipment, etc.) | |
7. | Update project status in the project management software (ClickUp). | |
8. | Maintaining minimum levels of Floor Stock items | |
9. | Provide technical training to new assembly technicians and other Company and customer personnel | |
10. | . Maintain a clean and organized workspace | |

- ADDITIONAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (10% work time):
- Assist QC with the inspection of incoming components.
- Provide deficiency reports to Production Manager and assist to resolve those issues.
- As necessary assist with cycle counts of Inventory items.
- Visit fabrication vendor sites for parts QC and pre-assembly activities.
- Facility Maintenance.
- ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
- Reports to Production Manager - Columns.
- Follows guidance from the Column Production and Qualification Specialist and Senior Assembly Technician.
E. MINIMUM/PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to strictly follow Company work schedule.
- Manage a personal time off schedule in advance.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Hands-on mechanical skills
- Familiarity with commonly used hand tools
