Description Assembly Technician

Description Assembly Technician
- Build and assemble various pilot/prototype interior automotive trim parts (instrument panels, doors, floor panels, overhead consoles, and hard trim)
- Assembly will require welding of plastic parts (sonic welding) and screwing
- Use a multitude of tools including, but not limited to: mills, lathes, band saws, table saws, routers, sliding miter saw, spindle sanders, shaper, and drill press
- Rework/mock-up changes to existing parts or fixtures, according to engineering drawings
- Communicate all resource and product requirements/challenges to team members
- Assist both Engineering and Build Coordinator in troubleshooting build issues
- Ensure on-time deliveries based on promise dates to customers
- Learn, retrain, and follow shop processes, procedures, standards, and best practices
- Maintain a clean and well-organized work area, conforming to all 5S standards
- Attend all Corporate training and education workshops, classes, or seminars as required
- Perform other tasks as required
Required skills of the Assembly Technician :
- Three-years' experience in a prototype build environment
- Technically cognizant and mechanically inclined
- Capability to work independently, think critically, and operate effectively in a dynamic, team oriented, and demanding atmosphere
- Ability to safely operate basic technician tools (micrometers, calipers, wrenches, etc.)
- Demonstrate professionalism, organization, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Applicable skills with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Ability to promote quality, performance, and continuous improvement in all areas
