About the Job
We have an outstanding Contract position for an Assembler to join a leading Company located in the Carson, CA surrounding area.
Pay Rate: $18.00 - $20.00
Job Responsibilities:
- Assembles aircraft interior structures and/or parts, such as bins, galleys, lavatories, sidewalls, cargo liners, etc., and builds sub-assemblies for the completion of aircraft interior structures, and/or parts using engineering drawings, company, and customer specifications.
- Adheres to company and customer specifications, work instructions, engineering prints & work orders.
- Document materials used in each process to maintain traceability.
- All employees are required to react productively to change and handle other essential tasks as assigned now or in the future. May work at different workstations as required by production needs.
- Provide training to other Production Associates as directed.
- Builds sub-assemblies of aircraft components, such as:
- Forming of aluminum trim extrusions, fiberglass laminates, and other materials for completion of the sub-assemblies, parts, or structures.
- Fills and fairs areas as necessary per the established specification or customer limits.
- Installs inserts and applies edging material.
- Assembles sub components for the structures/units.
- Leans work area, machines, tools, and equipment during and after production.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
Level 1 Qualification:
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience.
- Computer Skills: Not required.
- Requires little to no experience in discipline
- Conducts routine tasks as directed
- Closely supervised with little latitude for independent judgment
- The ability to read and write English at a level necessary for successful job performance.
- Good hand/eye coordination is a must.
- Requires sensitivity to safety regulations and requirements.
- Must be able to self-inspect work and correct discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Must have knowledge/familiarity to operate basic machinery & various pneumatic/hand tools.
- Must meet or exceed current training requirements.
- Understand the concept of utilizing work orders.
Level 2 Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience: 4-5 years of experience.
- Computer Skills: Not required.
- Requires some experience within discipline and solid working knowledge of the subject matter.
- Handles moderately complex issues and escalates more complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Performs work under general supervision with little latitude for independent judgment.
- Good hand/eye coordination a must.
- Requires sensitivity to safety regulations and requirements.
- Must be able to self-inspect work and correct discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Must have experience/knowledge to operate basic machinery & various pneumatic/hand tools.
- Must meet or exceed current training requirements.
- Understand how to utilize work orders.
- Ability to read engineering blueprints.
- Previous experience in Aerospace Manufacturing.
- Ability to provide peer review and oversight to junior Production Associates as needed.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence as well as to provide training in the discipline.
Level 3 Qualification:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience.
- Computer Skills: Not required.
- Requires significant experience within discipline and thorough working knowledge of the subject matter.

- Performs work under limited supervision with some latitude for independent judgment.

LEAD Level Qualification:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience within the discipline.
- Computer Skills: Familiar with Windows Operating System® and Office XP®.
- Requires significant experience within discipline and thorough working knowledge of subject matter.
- Handles complex issues and escalates only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Performs work under limited supervision and directly oversees employees within the work area.
- Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; providing input/assistance in the appraisal of employee performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Good hand/eye coordination a must.
- Requires sensitivity to safety regulations and requirements.
- Must be able to self-inspect work and correct discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Must have thorough experience/knowledge to operate basic machinery & various pneumatic/hand tools and havethe ability to teach/train the correct/safe operation to other employees.
- Ability to write reports and correspondence.
- Must meet or exceed current training requirements.
- Understand the utilization of work orders.
- Must demonstrate knowledge and profi ciency in interpreting Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Must demonstrate proficiency in conducting an effective meeting.
- Ability to read & interpret engineering blue prints.
- Significant experience in Aerospace Manufacturing.
