Job Title: Art Teacher (K-9) and Marketing Lead
Location: Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Denver (ACAND)
FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports to: Director of Family Engagement
Work Hours/Days: 200 days following the school year calendar, usually from 7:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day
Desired Start Date: August 2025, with required attendance at teacher training conference in Hillsdale, MI, in June of 2025
Salary Range: $46,000-$55,000 annually, depending on experience and education

Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Denver (ACAND) is hiring an art teacher and marketing lead for the 2025-26 school year. This position includes teaching a half-time load of art classes in grades K-9 and leading school marketing efforts as we grow.
Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Denver will offer grades K-9 for the 2025-26 school year with plans to expand to K-12 by adding one grade per year.
Essential Functions:
- As an Art Teacher:
- Prepare unit and weekly/daily lesson plans following curriculum guidelines for each year
- Teach and mentor students, utilizing classical pedagogy methods
- Assign, collect, grade and return graded work in a timely manner
- Monitor student progress and evaluate how to support effective student learning
- Communicate with parents
- Identify struggling or advanced students to provide additional support or academic extensions
- Collaborate with Students Services team to meet requirements of special educational plans, such as IEPs, 504s, and others
- Assist in daily operations of the school (e.g., taking attendance, supervising student arrivals, passing periods in hallways, lunchtime and recess supervision) on a shared schedule
- Participate in professional development
- Maintain confidentiality in student records
- As Marketing Lead:
- Capture photos of school events, moments, and activities
- Create social media posts and manage school social media content
- Take staff photos for school website and create staff ID cards
- Monitor school website for quality control
- Create flyers and programs for school events (music concerts, fundraising galas, etc.)
- Design branded school items/materials/gifts
- Engage with external marketing partners for major marketing projects (digital advertising, print materials for mailers, etc.)
- Observe confidentiality for students exempted from marketing
- Assist with marketing and recruiting events as needed
- Perform related duties as directed
Position Requirements:
- Adherence to the mission and vision of Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Denver and all school policies
- Commitment to high moral character necessary to sustain ordered liberty and constitutional self-government
- Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 36 credit hours in Education or a Art related field (Colorado Teaching license is NOT required)
- Experience in school marketing and graphic design strongly preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
- Creative problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to traverse classroom and building
- Must be able to provide instruction in various spaces dependent upon facilities availability
- Must be able to transport teaching materials and manipulatives
- Must be able to supervise outdoor recess periods
