Overview
MOCEAN is looking for an Art Director to join our Social and Brand division. This position will work across a variety of disciplines to ideate, develop, and create content across a variety of platforms. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the social space, enjoys bringing to life fresh concepts, and has the desire to continually redefine and reimagine the possibilities of the work created. The Art Director will have the vision to create big-picture plans and the technical expertise to execute them flawlessly. This role is for someone ready to take the next step and help shape a growing department.
Responsibilities
- Creative problem-solving skills with the desire to learn and assist others on your team.
- Ability to articulate creative ideas internally and to clients.
- Strong sense of typography, design, and layout.
- Assist in making sure that projects are completed at the high standard of excellence expected.
- Needs to be self-motivated as well as a team player.
- Mentor, encourage and guide Junior Designers and design assistants.
- Develop and refine ideas of all sizes to push work from good to great
- Develop and maintain account creative standards
- Collaborate efficiently & effectively with a variety of roles including producers, social managers, strategists, copywriters, account managers and creative directors
- Collaborate with editors and motion artists, providing clear direction to creative partners from pitch to post-production.
- Collaborate on client presentation and pitch decks
- Collaborate with CD to help produce creative guides for shoots including location, styling, talent, and photo/video style samples
- Occasionally assist on photo and video shoots and help see the creative vision through completion.
- Take ownership of work, create campaigns that you’re proud to share.
- Keep up-to-date and share knowledge amongst the team about the latest cultural trends
Requirements / Preferences
- 4-6 years of experience with art direction and/or design experience at an advertising agency.
- Passion for developing world class work on social platforms
- Expert knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and other design software.
- Strong organizational and teamwork skills, self-motivated, confident, energetic, and creative
- Examples of work that demonstrates a wide range of design experience
- Knowledge of all main social media platforms and best practices for creative on them
- Ability to work on a wide range of clients ranging from entertainment to traditional brands.
- Desire to learn, grow, and contribute in a creative, collaborative environment
- Ability to concept multiple ideas in a collaborative environment
- Strong communication skills
