ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Area Sales Manager reports to the Regional Sales Director and is responsible for managing a team and relationships within the area, along with developing and implementing sales strategies. This position will assist with the development of short- and long-range sales goals and manage the activities and development of sales personnel, researching and developing new markets and handling special projects as assigned. Detailed responsibilities include the following:
- Sales Planning and Goal Setting: creating and executing sales plans, setting achievable sales targets for the team, and aligning sales strategies with overall company objectives.
- Team Leadership and Coaching: motivating and guiding the sales team, providing ongoing coaching and feedback to improve individual performance, and identifying areas for development.
- Performance Management: regularly monitoring sales activity, tracking key performance indicators, evaluating sales team performance against targets, and identifying areas for improvement.
- Customer Relationship Management: building strong relationships with key customers, addressing customer concerns, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Marketing Analysis and Strategy Development: staying updated on market trends, competitor analysis, and adjusting sales strategies accordingly to maintain a competitive edge.
- Recruitment and Training: identifying and hiring new sales personnel, providing ongoing training to develop their skills and knowledge.
- Sales Forecasting and Reporting: developing accurate sales forecasts, analyzing sales data, and providing regular reports to senior management.
- Relationship Building: establishing and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders like marketing, and operations to facilitate collaboration.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or educational equivalent, with 6 or 8 years of relevant work experience in lieu of education, and 6 to 8 years’ experience in Sales or Operations.
- Extensive knowledge of industry trends.
- Strong PC skills, including Word and Excel.
- Strong technical, analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Self-motivated. Able to work independently.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to interact with all levels of management.
- Commitment to customer service and ability to work in team-oriented environment.
