Position Overview: Area Sales Manager
We are looking for an Area Sales Manager to drive profitable revenue and market share growth in the Vancouver, WA market. This role involves meeting or exceeding sales targets for our products, programs, and services with window fashion dealers, designers, and small design centers. This position reports to the Zone Manager and is considered remote, based in Portland, OR.
What You'll Do
Provide exceptional sales of our products within the assigned region.
Develop sales strategies to generate new business, manage existing accounts, and develop sales leads.
Build and maintain solid relationships with customers in the assigned region.
Provide training to customers on products and selling techniques.
Handle customer complaints with tact and understanding, maintaining customer loyalty and strong partnerships.
Submit required work plans, sales reports, and expense reports on time.
Stay abreast of customer, market trends, and competitors' activities.
Report significant developments to your Zone Manager and provide feedback to managers in relevant areas.
Attend and participate in company, customer, or industry trade shows, sales meetings, or other events as directed.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Who You Are
3+ years of outside sales and business development experience in the consumer goods industry, preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Sales and Marketing, Business, or a related field.
Experience in the window treatment industry and product knowledge is a plus, but not mandatory.
Valid driver's license and auto insurance required.
Willingness to travel 70% of the time, including overnight travel.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
Physically able to perform duties such as lifting up to 50lbs (sample books and maintain displays of window treatment products), driving long distances, etc.
Excellent customer interface and strong presentation skills.
Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships, both internally and externally.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with CRM applications, email, and internet navigation.
