Job Summary
As an Area Production Manager, you are responsible for overseeing and driving the production, shipping, kitting, and warehousing of products to meet your dedicated client requirements. Responsibilities include staffing, meeting quality standards, material requirements, documentation, prioritizing work, maximizing productivity, and safety, following company procedures, and training. As a strong effective leader, you will engage and motivate a team to meet established goals in a fast-paced environment.
General Duties, and Responsibilities
- Drive production, shipping, kitting, and warehousing of products to meet your dedicated client requirements.
- Ensure correct materials are present, organize daily assignments for teams, assist employees with work process problems, and schedule employees to ensure work is completed on time using work instructions and quality guidelines.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement strategies to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall productivity.
- Responsible for meeting daily production goals, tracking production metrics, and driving efficiencies in the process and team.
- Complete production plans by scheduling, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules based on changing priorities, resolving problems, meeting deadlines, and reporting results.
- Lead the production team by example in attitude, work quality, work ethic, dependability, and company loyalty.
- Communicate, improve, implement, and monitor company-provided safety programs and procedures.
- Manage and maintain a clean, safe, work environment.
- Train teams in production processes and determine and assess the skill level to accommodate the fluctuations in production demands.
- Follow work instructions and request documentation changes as required.
- Monitor the completion of necessary production and quality control documentation.
- Resolve minor employee conflicts or policy infractions and refer major issues to the manager and Human Resources.
- Ensure the production team follows all policies related to quality, human resources, safety, and general rules and guidelines.
- Communicate and work with other departments as required.
- Act as a representative of leadership in meetings and communication with clients.
- Provide first-line communication to the customer on all operations-related matters maintaining effective and strong communication with clients.
- Assist other supervisors in directing the overall operation and performing special projects as needed. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as required.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing lead or supervisory role.
- At least 5 years’ experience in logistics, production, or warehouse environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
- Experience and competence with MS Office Products including Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience in Sage X3 a plus.
