Responsibilities & Expectations:
The Area Manager is responsible for leading the business unit to deliver safety, operational, profit, sales, and customer KPI goals utilizing the IPS operating system known as CIPS (Continuous Improvement Process Solution). Overall responsibility for managing and growing the key value stream of field service. Build and sustain a culture around the IPS values of Safety, Integrity, Teamwork, Accountability, Customer Focus, and Entrepreneurial Spirit by utilizing a Servant Leadership mindset and practices. Recruit and develop a top-performing organization while improving overall employee engagement.
Leadership and Culture:
- Foster a high-performance culture aligned with IPS values (Safety, Integrity, Teamwork, Accountability, Customer Focus, and Entrepreneurial Spirit).
- Lead by example, demonstrating servant leadership to inspire and motivate the team.
- Recruit, develop, and retain top talent, focusing on improving employee engagement.
- Develop business strategies, annual operating plans (AOP), and tactical execution to achieve objectives. Monitor financial, sales, cost, operating, and customer service trends, making adjustments as necessary.
- This position has P&L responsibility for locations assigned and is a key member of the region’s leadership team.
Operational Excellence:
- Drive operational excellence by leveraging the CIPS system to achieve safety, operational, profit, sales, and customer KPI goals.
- Optimize resource allocation and utilization to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Analyze financial data to identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
- Implement innovative solutions and best practices to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Customer Focus:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
- Proactively address customer needs and exceed expectations.
- Drive continuous improvement in customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Team Development and Collaboration:
- Empower and develop team members to reach their full potential.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, including executive leadership, field personnel, and customers.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- BA/BS in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business or related technical degree preferred
- Entrepreneurial self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritize projects, delegating when appropriate
- 5 years of combined experience in general management or operations management in a services, manufacturing, or repair business preferred
- Rotating equipment, electric motors, and/or power systems experience preferred
- 3 years of experience managing operational improvement or efficiency projects a plus
- MBA is a plus
