Responsibilities:
What you'll be challenged to do:
TranSystems’ Ohio offices have an immediate opening for a Business Operations Director, to manage project performance at our Ohio offices in Columbus and Cleveland. The right candidate should be someone who is enthusiastic and passionate about the transportation services consulting market.
General duties include, but are not limited to:
- Work with Regional Business Operations Manager to run all project manager meetings (held at regular intervals throughout the calendar).
- Lead Operational budget preparations.
- Manage Utilization/NSR performance by forecasting actual performance vs. budget, and implement tactics to offset anticipated deviations.
- Manage administrative labor totals by forecasting actual performance vs. budget and implement tactics to offset anticipated over-budget charges.
- Monitor NRM performance and work with project managers to address anticipated/actual NRM reductions.
- Work with supervisors to manage training activities/budgets.
- Foster an All-In Approach environment for the achievement of project completion
- Participate in CST meetings.
- Participate in development of Pipeline, Wins and Sales annual budgets for all Market Sectors.

- Bachelor’s degree in civil and/or structural engineering from an ABET-accredited university or college.
- Strong understanding of the transportation consulting services business operations.
- Ability to prepare and execute business strategies to achieve profitable performance.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Be eager to learn, be a team player and be enthusiastic.

- Able and willing to travel through the State of Ohio.
- Physically capable of performing field work including working at heights, carrying ladders and gear, working in adverse weather conditions, etc.
- Valid Driver’s License.

Work Environment:
- The work environment characteristics and physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however, construction and field assignments can be severe (i.e. airport noise, inside factories, construction equipment, jack hammers, etc.).
- The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, talk or hear, and drive a vehicle. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.
