Education & Qualifications:
This is a hybrid work position that require three days of on site work at NASA Headquarter in Washington, D.C.
Salary range is: $75K to 85K based on experience.

We are seeking an Archivist II to work with our NASA team in Washington. D.C.
Job Description:
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish tasks
- Works under general supervision; typically reports to a manager
- Performs analog preservation functions including holdings maintenance, fastener removal, rehousing, etc.
- Responsible for digital preservation functions including processing and transformation of digital objects, capture of metadata, and utilization of the Open Archival - Information Systems (OAIS) Model as a standard for digital preservation
- Enables search and discovery through the creation of archival descriptions using standards- based archival description systems, metadata capture and normalization, and digitization
- Maintains a thorough and up-to-date understanding of digital file formats, digital preservation, and digital persistence practice and theory
- Creates, documents, and follows archival processes, workflows and best practices
- Contributes to online outreach content in the form of blogs and social media
- Generate routine and/or ad-hoc reports for OCOMM management/OCOMM customers
- Directly interface with OCOMM management and/or OCOMM customers as needed
Education & Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program with a concentration in information science, archives management, or digital curation
- Must have 5 years of directly related experience
- Proficient in oral and written communications, including writing and editing
- Advanced problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of both physical and digital archives, electronic records management, and digital preservation practice
- Demonstrated knowledge of the federal records lifecycle
