We are searching for a first-class Architectural Product Representative for our Mid-West Region (Chicago area). Recently expanding our product portfolio with whole host of innovative closure products, we are looking for a driven and focused individual who has a proven ability to facilitate meetings with targeted architects, become their trusted resource and get our products specified, driving new business to our distribution network.
Summary:
Develop and manage architect relationships with the most active architects and their firms. Work directly with the architectural community in an assigned territory to become the trusted advisor and "go to" person for CornellCookson and Clopay's scope of work.
Responsibilities/Principal Duties:
- Promote the CornellCookson and Clopay brand names to the architectural community. Target firms and architects who build projects with the greatest profit potential for our core and new products.
- Work with Regional Managers, Dealers, and MarCom to research, find, call on and convince the right architects to utilize our products.
- Continuously advance knowledge of competitors product lines, the construction industry, building codes, and selling and marketing techniques.
- Work with both Cornell and Cookson Dealers to maximize the dual branded impact.
- Work with others to achieve company goals. Work closely with Sales support, Regional Managers, Estimating/Sales group and dealers to close the work done in design phase.
Promote the Cornell and Cookson brand name, and new and existing products through architectural marketing and promotion.
- Work with other internal groups to achieve Cornell/Cookson company goals.
Qualified candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years experience in a construction product related industry.
- Proven architectural selling skills and mechanical aptitude are necessary.
- Proven success reading construction docments, recommending appropriate products and options based on given applications.
- Must be highly organized and have a proven ability to work independently.
- Working aptitude in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Live within the assigned territory.
