Architectural Intern - HFS Company

HFS Company is a nationally recognized AEC project management and consulting firm working through prime contracts on a variety of federal and military medical projects throughout the US and Europe. We are expanding and looking to add an Architectural Intern to our team to grow with us, working on a diverse array of cool projects and making an impact on the clients we serve.

As an Architectural Intern your role will be an active member of our design team collaborating with Design Directors, Project Architects and Project Managers developing technical and creative architectural solutions for various project types. Role will include progressive experience and responsibility commensurate with experience managing and coordinating project design through all phases of construction documents and construction administration. . Successful candidates will be able to translate an architect's or engineer's design sketches and documents into a comprehensive 2D/3D production model.

• Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents and production
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors, regulatory agencies and various other design team members to meet overall project objectives
• Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings
• Communicate graphically as required to team members and clients.
• Occasional site visits to perform site investigations and construction observations
• Assist Project Managers with construction administration responsibilities such as submittal reviews, RFI responses, tracking deliverables, document control etc.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Architecture from a NAAB accredited university
• Proficient with AutoCAD and BIM (Revit) modeling
• Knowledge of building design and construction means, methods and techniques
• Knowledge of relevant building codes and accessibility requirements
• Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and parametric design software
• Ability to read redlines and modify BIM models or drawings
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and/or SketchUp
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to write clearly to communicate technical issues and design ideas
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong organization, planning and time management habits
• Ability to pass basic background check for entry to US government-owned facilities
