The Facilities Management Architectural Designer / Project Manager will provide technical and design expertise, along with team leadership, in project management, design, and construction methodology. The Architectural Designer / Project Manager will oversee facilities-related projects from initiation to close-out, addressing evolving business needs to support strategic growth and other key business objectives. Responsibilities also include development and maintenance of square footage allocations, real estate reporting, and updating floorplans to reflect occupancy across our district.
KeyResponsibilities:
Manage moderate to large-scale projects, including office remodels, major construction renovations, and technical projects, with minimal oversight.
Utilize AutoCAD software to develop construction documents and construction details including floor plans, elevations, sections, and schedules.
Interpret and explain architectural and engineering details and exercise working knowledge of drafting fundamentals including layers, blocks, annotative styles, pen styles, page layouts, plotting, etc.
Update district as-built conditions and maintain square footage documents and district real estate reports utilizing knowledge in IBC and BOMA.
Initiate and oversee all project phases, including programming, design, scheduling, move coordination, procurement, contractor management, project monitoring, and close-out procedures.
Collaborate with and coordinate external architects, engineers, and consultants.
Manage all project contracts, change orders, invoices, and standard project governance documents such as risk assessments, project charters, and approval memorandums.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design, interior architecture, or a related field, or equivalent combination of directly related education and/or experience.
Typically requires at least three years of relevant experience; commercial-relatedarchitecture or interior design, including project management and space planning.
Proficiency in AutoCAD.
Familiarity with the International Building Code (IBC) and the Building Owners & Management Association (BOMA) standards.
Strong knowledge of building and life safety codes.
Excellent understanding and interpretation of construction documents (architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire, security, etc.) is also required, along with the ability and knowledge to field verify and document existing conditions.
Knowledge of budget and accounting principles.
High level of initiative and ability to multitask, meeting deadlines efficiently.
Additional Information:
Location: Hybrid 50%; Kansas City, MO or Denver, CO
Pay Range: The starting pay range for this position is $71,600 to $110,900 for the job level(s) required for this position. Final offers are determined by factors including the candidate’s qualifications, internal alignment considerations, district assignment, and geographic location.
