As a member of Data Centers, the Cloud Architect will design and support Expeditors' hybrid cloud environments, that are critical to the support of Expeditors software development, business and global operations. The Cloud Architect leads the evolution of the Expeditors hybrid multi-cloud environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES + Be a collaborative member of a highly motivated and agile team + Represent cloud technologies and methodologies in architecture leadership discussions + Stay abreast of new technologies, concepts, and approaches + Interact with people more than systems + Provide technical leadership by coaching and mentoring cloud engineering staff + Translate business requirements into designs for cloud solutions + Develop and maintain industry standard best security practices + Develop and deliver professional proposals and design documentation + Develop and communicate standard operating procedures and functional design specifications + Drive standardization and automation into all aspects of the cloud platform + Communicate with providers of cloud technologies on a regular cadence This position is on-site and will reside in the greater Seattle, WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position. + Downtown Seattle + Federal Way + Lynnwood + Bellevue (Factoria) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS + Excellent communication and presentation skills + Excellent customer service skills + Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills + Ability to translate business requirements into functional requirements for cloud design + Prior experience in designing a cloud platform with multiple data centers + Extensive knowledge of Azure, GCP and AWS + Experience with on-premises Virtualization (VMWare) environments + Experience leading teams + Strong knowledge of OS and cloud platforms (i.e. Linux, Windows, Azure) + Skilled in DevOps processes + Keen attention to detail + Relevant certifications DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS + Experience with Windows and UNIX operating systems + Experience with third party vendor management + Experience and knowledge of IT operations that includes networking, identity, disaster recovery, data platforms, and governance + Strong understanding of how databases, networks and other critical IT functions work Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not transfer or sponsor applicants for U.S. work authorization (such as an H-1B visa) for this opportunity.
