About the Job
We are looking for a motivated Registered Architect with minimum of 8 years of experience to join our client’s full-service architectural and engineering firm. An individual that is looking to advance their career thru a broad range of project experiences, and a desire for exposure to all aspects of the profession is ideal. Candidate must be capable of leading production for commercial design on smaller to mid-size National Brand & Residential projects.
- Researches, programs, plans, designs, and administers building projects for clients, applying knowledge of architectural design, construction detailing, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials and systems.
- Produces conceptual plans, renderings, and documents.
- Plans and programs layout of project(s); coordinates and integrates engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval.
- Utilizes computer-assisted design software and equipment to prepare project designs and plans.
- Produces construction documents in AutoCAD.
- Working with the Project Manager, may direct, supervise, and check activities of workers engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents for the Conceptual Design Phase, Schematic Design Phase, and/or the Detailed Design Phase of a project.
- Interfaces with Director of Architecture and project managers.
- Works in tandem with highly collaborative multi-discipline design teams.
- Assists in research and coordination of materials and products for project specifications.
Must Haves
- Ability to provide elegant and effect design solutions and manage client relationships
- A positive, creative, and professional approach to project deliverables.
- General knowledge of Tenant Finish Design Packages: interior materials and finishes, floor plans, furniture plans, finish plans, reflected ceiling plans, interior elevations, interior details, millwork details, ceiling details etc.
- Proficient in different construction types and detailing
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to details
- Ability to work under indirect supervision
- Effective interpersonal skill and collaborative management style to include teamwork and team building ability
- Comfortable with ambiguity and time spent outside of comfort zone acquiring new skills
- Technically creative and open-minded
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
- Ideally a Registered Architect, however someone en route to getting registered will be highly considered
- 8+ years of architectural experience within commercial, national brand, retail and residential industries
- Understanding and knowledge of various building codes, zoning regulations, building construction, building systems, and site requirements
- Proficiency in AutoCad and Microsoft Office is required. Proficiency in SketchUp, Enscape or equal, Photoshop, Illustrator is preferred.
