About the Job
Bergmann, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, is looking for a licensed architect to join our growing team as an Architect in Albany, NY.
Our architects offer a full range of services from preliminary planning and feasibility studies through final design and construction inspection for both full build-out projects and renovations/repurposing. We have developed a rich portfolio of award winning work across a number of markets. Our architects work closely as trusted partners with our clients throughout the design process to realize a jointly conceived vision. We have built an in-house, multi-disciplinary team of architects, interior designers, engineers and planners who skillfully balance design constraints and design opportunities. We strive to design buildings of lasting value that are infused with sustainable principles.
Responsibilities:- Responsible for leading, overseeing, supervising, and coordinating project activities
- Fulfill the role of Project Architect and AOR on most projects; pending the size/complexity of projects a separate project architect may be assigned
- Ensure the success of the projects under their management
- Serve as the primary design liaison to the client and oversight of construction documents
- May assign tasks to and oversee the work of design/production staff
- Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Architecture or equivalent work experience as required to maintain licensed architect status
- 7+ years of experience
- Architecture Licensure Required
- Previous use and understanding of AutoCAD and Revit design software with the ability to produce preliminary and schematic designs in AutoCAD at a minimum, but Revit is desired.
- Strong communication skills required to navigate and negotiate between owner requests and Bergmann's best interest
- Willingness to mentor team members on technical and professional skills
- Previous business development and project management experience preferred in planning and executing design/construction projects
- Ability to work in close collaboration with other managers and leadership, clients, in-house and outside consultants
- Client facing experience
- Willing to travel occasionally to client sites and meetings
Compensation: $60,036 - 96,512 DOQ
