Our Analytical R&D laboratory located in our Monmouth Junction, NJ headquarters has an immediate need for a
Full-Time, TEMPORARY Lab Technician. This is an approximate 1 Month assignment with possible opportunity to become permanent
Summary
The Analytical Research and Development (ARD) Lab Technician supports the ARD department to ensure their daily functioning. Adhering strictly to company policies and current industry standards, the incumbent cleans and organizes ARD lab areas and laboratory glassware and routinely inspects and disposes of lab chemicals and test samples.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Primary duties/responsibilities
- Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and state, federal and local laws
- Cleans laboratory glassware on a regular basis to ensure sufficient supply for routine lab work without any contamination
- Cleans and organizes ARD lab areas
- Places laboratory supply orders and maintains inventory of laboratory supplies, materials and reagents; Routinely checks lab expired samples, reagents, solutions to ensure proper disposition
- Performs purified water sampling and submits water samples for micro testing
- Supports coordination of lab testing paperwork and sample life cycle within lab, as needed
- Properly records all processes and results in appropriate laboratory notebook or records in a timely fashion as required by SOPs
- Performs other lab related supporting activities, as needed
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED
Minimum education and years of relevant work experience
High School diploma or equivalent and 0-5 years experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology analytical laboratory OR Associate Degree and 0-2 years experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology analytical laboratory.
Special knowledge or skills needed and/or licenses or certificates required
- Strong record keeping ability
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret documents such as safety and environmental policies, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals, etc.
- Basic PC skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast paced, matrixed, team environment
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
- Fluent in English (verbal and written)
Special knowledge or skills needed and/or licenses or certificates preferred
Knowledge of cGMP, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and guidances
