The Charlottesville Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a qualified candidate to be considered for the position of Aquatics Operations Specialist II who is highly motivated and who strives for success by demonstrating Charlottesville's Core Values of Leadership, Trust, Creativity, Respect, and Excellence.
The preferred hiring range for this position is between between $20.20 - $26.08 an hour ($42,016.00 - $54,246.40 Annually).
Hiring Bonus: one-time hiring bonus of $2,000.
Starting offer is based on applicable education, experience, and internal equity. This is a full-time, non-exempt, position which provides excellent benefits including 13 paid holidays plus 1 floating holiday, paid vacation and sick leave, health insurance options with employer contribution, employer-paid life insurance, City's retirement options, gym membership reimbursement (up to $34 a month), tuition reimbursement (up to $3,000 per fiscal year), and continuing education/training opportunities.
The Aquatics Operations Specialist II is responsible for the routine operations and programs at City Aquatic recreation facilities and programs. Oversight over the daily operations of recreational facilities and recreational programs (which may include but is not limited to maintaining adequate inventory levels, ordering supplies for the facility, reserving facilities for events, etc.), which includes two year-round indoor aquatics facilities and two seasonal outdoor pools and assisting with coordination and scheduling of facility staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
Under limited supervision, manages multiple programs at multiple locations. May supervise the work of subordinate staff, which may include voluntary, temporary and benefited staff on a day or project basis (which may include but is not limited to training new hires and supervising staff at assigned facilities). Reports to an Operations Specialist III or IV or a Management Specialist.
