Position Summary
The Stony Brook School seeks a 12-month, full-time Aquatics Director and Swim Coach to join our dynamic and collaborative team starting on August 1st, 2024. The Aquatics Director and Swim Coach will supervise, manage, and direct all aspects of the school's swimming program. Additionally, the role will encompass activities supporting other athletic teams through the management of pool rentals and liaison duties with QNS. The role will also include assisting with the day-to-day functioning of the Athletic Office and performing other administrative tasks as assigned.
Organization and Operation:
- Create and maintain a detailed master roster document.
- Maintain Bear Blanket Document.
- Enter Orah passes for games where students will be off-campus or missing study hours.
- Enter meal requests with dining services based on away game time frames.
- Facilitate team travel by coordinating with bus companies, drivers, key assignors, airlines, etc.
- Collaborate with coaches and travel agents to plan long road trips or trips during breaks for specific teams.
- Maintain alternate sports application and work with students and coaches taking alternate sports credits.
Major Events:
- Purchase all end-of-year trophies, bear blankets, etc.
- Assist in the creation and execution of events that engage students and families and draw positive attention to athletics, such as pep rallies, big game dinners, dances, etc.
- Help facilitate media days.
Athletic Team:
- Participate in daily discussions, meetings, and operations that guide the direction of the athletic department.
Swim Head Coach:
- Schedule strong competition.
- Work with athletes to establish and achieve goals.
- Facilitate practices to support athletes' goals.
- Create a dryland routine for swimmers.
- Plan and facilitate away meets and trips.
- Hold practices and training sessions throughout the school year.
CPO - Certified Pool Operator/Aquatics Director:
- Oversee all operations related to the pool.
- Schedule chlorine deliveries.
- Maintain pool chemistry by adding chlorine and other chemicals as needed.
- Maintain logs as required by state and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the facilities department to ensure proper pool operation.
- Obtain lifeguards as needed for school events.
- Schedule outside organizations and rentals.
- Obtain necessary paperwork, insurance, agreements, etc., for rentals.
- Maintain the pool calendar.

Salary Range: $45,000 - $65,000 commensurate to experience
