Applications Specialist - SEM Products
The SEM Applications Specialist provides applications support to the Sales and Marketing team through demonstrations of SEM products to existing and potential customers. The position involves running samples in the lab and demonstrating the product line to customers. Other responsibilities include participating in the development and delivery of SEM training courses.
The SEM Applications Specialist will:
- Run samples and demonstrate the full capabilities of SEM products to existing and potential customers in the applications lab, at customer sites, and scientific conferences
- Provide clear reports from sample data acquired at demos or from customer samples to promote our SEM products.
- Develop expertise in specimen preparation techniques, including ion milling based techniques, to evaluate challenging biological and semiconductor samples
- Provide technical support to customers, sales, and marketing pre and post sale
- Assist Product Managers with the evaluation of new products, software, or accessories
- Maintain technical data pertaining to JEOL instruments and competitor’s instrumentation
- Participate in development and delivery of training for SEM customers
- Develop expertise and applications to support EBIC, EDS, and lithography as needed
SEM Applications Specialist Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a physical/life science discipline or related area
- A minimum of 3-5 years of SEM Applications or equivalent combination of education and related experience
- Scanning electron microscopy knowledge and experience is required
- Experience with sample preparation a plus
- Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills
- Up to 30% travel is anticipated
