We are seeking a creative, driven, and highly motivated Applications Engineer to join our team!
Summary:
The Applications Engineer assists in the fulfillment of before and after order requirements for the application of Ingersoll multi-axis CNC machine tools to the processing of customer components. Included are all activities required to produce accurate cycle time for sales proposals and develop the actual process cycle to successfully produce the Customer parts. This position requires traveling domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze customer applications for CNC process development
- Produce time studies based on CNC processes for technical proposals
- Use CAD software to design fixtures necessary for the process
- Produce the programs CNC machines with CAM software
- Research and Develop new tool path techniques and cutting tool geometry
- Train customers in proper use of CNC process
Qualifications & Experience:
- Knowledge of CAM and machining practices
- Thorough knowledge of ITAR requirements and processes
- Ability to apply cutting tools (cutting conditions, adjustments, fixtures, etc.)
- Ability to travel in USA and abroad for extended periods
- Ability to instill customer's confidence in Ingersoll's competency and reliability
- Must maintain professional appearance and behavior
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and listening)
- Have the ability to work with and lead others
- Creative mind and self-starter with the ability to plan
- A specific experience as CNC programmer for multi-axis machine tools
- Multiple Cam software packages experience
- CAD knowledge: preferably CATIA, Solidworks, AutoCAD
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical and/or Industrial Engineering
