About the Job
We are seeking a Lead Application Support Engineer who specializes in maintaining and providing technical support for applications beyond the development stage, ensuring smooth daily operations within our firm. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with development teams, infrastructure partners, and both internal and external clients to address technical support incidents promptly and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Utilize ITIL Change, Incident, and Problem management processes.
Lead Major Incident calls and drive root cause analysis to resolve critical production issues.
Debug system components to resolve technical issues in complex and regulated environments.
Provide feedback on proposed application designs and recommend optimizations.
Hands-on experience with Monitoring and Alerting processes in Distributed, Cloud, and Mainframe environments.
Contribute to Monthly Service Reviews (MSR) with Development partners to review KPI metrics.
Participate in Disaster Recovery events, completing tasks and collecting evidence.
Collaborate across teams to resolve application issues and advance as needed.
Support audit requests promptly, providing necessary documentation and evidence.
Plan and implement certificate creation/renewals as required.
Develop, modify, and monitor Dashboards to enhance issue detection and observability.
Gather and analyze project requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
Ensure honesty and transparency within the team culture.
Verify analysis performed by team members and implement necessary changes.
Resolve Critical application alerts in a timely manner, providing business impact analysis.
Review and update knowledge articles and runbooks in collaboration with application development teams.
Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline application monitoring efforts.
Partner with development teams to provide input during the design and development stages of applications.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
Technical Qualifications (Mainframe): COBOL, JCL, DB2, DB2 Stored Procedures, CICS, SPUFI, File Aid.
