Overview:The Application Solution Lead will be a part of Gallagher Bassett’s Business Intelligence team and work with global business and IT organizations to accomplish the following objectives:
- Responsible for designing and architecting application solutions that align with the organization's technology stack, business goals, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to the development team throughout the application development lifecycle.
- Identify and evaluate technology options and making recommendations for the application solutions.
- Team with business partners across the organization, using your experience in assessing needs, analyzing opportunities, and generating proof of concepts that can be evaluated to demonstrate value.
- Understanding business requirements, performing impact analysis, process & flow mapping and assessing technical challenges/feasibility in achieving required business outcome
- Collaborate with project managers, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Maintain vision and roadmap for phased rollout of emerging solutions – guided by market conditions, client need and business priorities.
- Keenly aware of the application portfolio, looks for patterns and advocates for enterprise solutions to solve broad-reaching issues.
- Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to brainstorm ideas, pin down project requirements, and iterate through potential solutions.
- Be a champion for BI technology, data quality, integrity, and reliability.
Skills:
- Strong technical skills in application development, programming languages, and frameworks relevant to the organization's technology stack.
- Proficiency in various software development methodologies, such as Agile or DevOps.
- Strong experience skills in application development, programming languages, and frameworks relevant to our organization's technology stack (Microsoft, Azure, Tandem/Cobol, Power BI, SSIS, SSRS, SQL, Python).
- Ability to analyze complex applications both within a modern or mainframe platforms and propose efficient and effective solutions that achieve business objectives.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to analyze complex issues, evaluate options, and make informed decisions in a timely manner.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to foster a positive and productive work environment.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field, with both technical and business credentials a plus.
Experience: Ideal candidate will have 5+ years in an application solution lead role where you designed solutions that supported data warehouse/business intelligence areas; preferably on a Microsoft platform (e.g., Azure, SQL Server).
- Solid experience working in the insurance industry, with an understanding of insurance products, processes, and regulations.
- Proven track record of working closely with business partners to understand their needs, requirements, and pain points.
- Experience in working with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and testers, to ensure the solution aligns with business needs. communicate technical concepts and solutions to non-technical stakeholders, manage expectations, and ensure alignment between technical solutions and business requirements.
