We are currently recruiting for an Application and Platform Operations Manager for our State of CA client. This person will be part of a state of the art, extremely vast, IT modernization project with a variety of cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will lead a technical team and have the ability to be hands-on technically. This person will also have experience holding technical teams accountable, monitoring, guiding, coaching and using data and metrics to improve individual and team performance.
This role is remote; however, teams may gather in California several times per year. Seeking candidates in Pacific Time Zones, Mountain Time Zones or Central Time Zones only.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and report on application, cloud, and SaaS costs and usage.
- Drive operational excellence of our platform and applications.
- Set up and maintain regular KPIs such as MTTR, SLOs, error rates, for all applications and services.
- Manage and report on application, cloud, and SaaS costs and usage.
- Review licenses and usage of tools/cloud.
- Provide reports on cost and usage.
- Partner with procurements and ensure we have justifications in place.
- Drive operational excellence
- Create some level of maturity assessment for teams.
- Provide guidance and best practices to achieve desired outcomes.
- ensure teams are utilizing the tools available.
- Setup and Maintain KPI’s
- Work with teams to utilize tools to setup and monitor KPI’s for operational excellence.
- Provide business value evaluations and setup improvement to continue this.
- Well organized and clear in verbal and written communication.
- Technical skills in application, infrastructure, cloud, and DevOps tools.
- Able to translate technical concepts to business partners and their value.
- Ability to setup monitoring, operational and support processes for a wide variety of teams.
- Ability to train and skill up resources.
- Has a customer centric focus.
- Running Site Reliability Teams (SRE).
- Driving performance of teams and individuals for continual performance improvement.
- Manage tools and technology procurements.
- Setup on call and incident response processes.
